Tamara Lempinka
Tamara Lempinka Polish-born
painter was born Tamara Gorska (1918-1980) to a wealthy
family in Warsaw Poland. In 1916 Tamara married a Russian lawyer
and socialite,
During the Russian revolution they moved to Paris where Tamara
studied under Maurice Denis and quickly gained a reputation among
socialites ,writers, aristocrats, artists and entertainers
for her distinctive Art Deco portraits as well as her high style
glamour and Bohemian lifestyle.
Tamara Lempinka captured the
modernist spirit of the chic bohemian Art Deco Period with her
bold techniques. Her paintings depict the atmosphere of wealth and
decadence for which Paris had become famous.
